Translators for Elders (TFE) is a pioneering nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing accessibility and inclusivity for the elderly. Our mission is to leverage technology and language to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults.
Position Overview
TFE is expanding its Tech Team and TFE’s Tech Team is seeking passionate Localization Engineers to join us in our mission. We are looking for problem-solvers who are eager to learn and thrive in collaborative environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Website Enhancement: Improve the overall user experience of TFE’s websites by simplifying and optimizing plugins, with a focus on enhancing accessibility for translators and elders. Evaluate and explore new plugins to enhance website functionality.
- Website Update:
- Build a credit page for past members and a member page.
- Integrate TFE social media posts into the website and update related articles and activities.
- Localization Support: Facilitate smooth localization processes for culturally sensitive and linguistically accurate service delivery, including website and project localization in the following languages:
- English ⇄ Spanish
- English ⇄ Chinese
- English ⇄ French
- English ⇄ German
- English ⇄ Korean
- Help Center Management: Collaborate with the marketing team to maintain and enhance the TFE Help Center, ensuring it serves as a comprehensive resource for our clients.
- Knowledge Base Development: Aid in developing and updating an Internal Knowledge Base to optimize documentation and operational workflows.
- Team Support: Provide necessary support to project and marketing teams to fulfill organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with WordPress, DTP tools (e.g., Adobe Suite), and CAT tools. Familiarity with programming languages and the ability to QA code is a plus.
- Learning and Adaptability: A keen interest in adopting new technologies and tools.
- Cooperation and Communication: Excellent teamwork capabilities, a positive outlook, and strong communication skills.
- Independence and Motivation: The ability to work independently, driven by self-motivation to meet deadlines and contribute effectively to the team.
